Bridge inspections without conventional access equipment
Traditional access beneath a bridge can require rope-access teams, under-bridge units or boom trucks, along with traffic control and longer setup periods. For suitable structures, Summit can deploy the Elios 3 from a safe launch area and fly close to structural elements that are difficult to see from the deck or ground.
This approach can reduce setup, exposure and disruption while giving the bridge owner detailed visual evidence of girders, connections, bracing, bearings and other hard-to-reach areas. The drone inspection supports condition assessment; engineering conclusions and structural ratings remain with the owner's qualified bridge professionals.
Rail bridge inspections with less track disruption
Rail bridge access is often governed by short windows, protection requirements and the cost of occupying active track. Where the launch point, flight path and railway rules allow, Elios 3 collection can be completed with limited or no track occupancy and without positioning heavy access equipment on or beside the railway.
Summit plans the flight around the structure, operating environment and owner requirements. The resulting video, stills and observations can support maintenance planning, follow-up engineering review and targeted hands-on inspection where closer investigation is needed.
Highway bridge and infrastructure inspections
The same close-access drone method can support provincial, municipal and private infrastructure owners. Highway bridges, overpasses, culverts, utility structures and other constrained assets can be documented without placing personnel directly into every difficult-access location.
Summit provides organized inspection media and factual observations for the client and its engineering team. Scopes can be tailored for screening, baseline documentation, post-event review or repeat inspection of known areas of interest.
